Racism and it's inversion in the US.

Racism is something that the political right everywhere is accused of. Well then, what happens if the political left is faced with the same accusation. This is exactly what is happening in US. Since the last congressional election, democrats are really getting hammered with the accusation of anti-semitism. This piece is on how the accusations of anti-semitism on democrats are really going to make it work for Trump and the GOP politics.

The Squad as they are called, a team of four young congresswomen of the democrat party. Alexandria Ocasio cortez, Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley, Rashida Tlaib - they are the prime targets of the political right these days. AOC has been vocal from the start and is considered as the squad leader. The inexperience and the ignorance of the political know-how of AOC and her squad, however is making things easy for Trump. AOC's remarks on the house speaker Nancy Pelosi and how Trump utilised it are all showing Cortez's inexperience as a regular politician.

Twitter was a battlefield few days back when Trump was called a racist for his tweets on the squad, especially Omar. Let's just analyse this issue with the incident that happened in  April when the New York Times published a cartoon on Trump and Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu. The cartoon was widely criticised for its anti-semitism, and Trump took the moment to blame it on the political left for creating anti-semitic sentiments in the country. Soon cartoons were banned in New York Times. Now as Trump is taking on Omar with his rhetoric of Racism, he is inverting whatever that was levelled against him from the first day he took charge. Trump outrightly accused Omar of anti-semitism and is himself confident that he doesn't have a racist bone( In fact, 3 days ago, archeologists discovered  the long sought after 'ulnis bigotris' in an excavation in US).

What Trump is really trying to do is win the racist debate by bringing in the idea of anti-semitism. Israel is an ally to US and Netanyahu is very close to Trump. The Arab-Jew conflict in the Israel-Palestine issue is well utilised by Trump here as he takes on Omar, a Muslim congresswoman. The big question is whether the Jews in America are buying trump's favours or not. Statistics say that four in ten American Jews say Trump favors Israelis too much. Indeed, the racism talk is going to help Trump but the extent of it is unknown.

So, the talk of racism has become a political routine in the US and the good thing that the squad is doing right now is that they are not backing down from this fiery debate of racism. With the 2020 presidential elections around the corner, the squad is not likely to get the wholehearted support from the democrat side. Especially after AOC's criticism of Nancy Pelosi, Trump has succeeded in wedging a gap between the group and the party. This is indeed going to help Trump in the elections.

With 2020 in his sight, Trump will continue to use the same weapon of anti-semitism against his opponents. This is sure going to help build his diplomatic relations with Israel at an international level and is also going to support his narrative back home. The 2020 presidential candidate field is crowded already from the democrat party and it is safe to say that Trump still has the upper hand, given the competition that he faces. Till February, Trump is likely to push on his narratives of Iran, Israel and the trade wars. The alternative of a 'Madam President' is still a gamble too big for the Americans and the glass ceiling may not be that thin to break afterall. It is still early to say but chances are that US will see Trump continuing in the White House.
