What eats me!

The River always eats me -

the river inside me;

raging against the rocks,

racing against the time.

The Mirror always eats me -

the mirror inside me;

growing in life,

glowing in pride.

The Skin always eats me -

the skin inside me;

failing to love,

falling to die.

The Sky always eats me -

the sky inside me;

lusting for light,

painting for sight.

The Heart always eats me -

the heart inside me;

dampened with flesh,

doubtful with lies.
